To our Kiva friends and family,

We hope this message finds you healthy, safe, and supported in the wake of the COVID-19 virus. We want to let you know that Kiva is taking this situation very seriously. Nothing is more important to us than the health and wellbeing of our team and our consumers. Your trust and reliance in Kiva over these last nine years means the world to us and now supports over 260+ employees and their families in California. We have taken several important steps to ensure the utmost safety of our entire community and would like to share them with you.

First, the FDA has stated that “there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19.” Kiva will continue to follow FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and provide the same safe, consistent, and reliable products that our consumers have grown to rely on. We recognize the vital importance of continuing to provide this essential remedy to the public and will continue to produce our products while also balancing the safety of our personnel. All members of our team who can work remotely are currently doing so, and all non-critical meetings, gatherings, visitations, and events have been indefinitely postponed.

For those who can’t work from home, we are providing as safe of a work environment as possible, with policies and recommendations reflecting guidance from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and other relevant government authorities. Facilities have been altered to allow for social distancing while working, and enhanced sanitation and personal protective equipment have been provided such as hand sanitizer and gloves. We have also shared training and education around preventative measures our personnel can take both at work and at home to ensure the safety of themselves and everyone around them.

In the coming days and weeks, we will continue to update our workplace policies and recommendations as necessary. We have a task force meeting daily to determine our actions and communicate updates to the greater team and to our consumers based on changing information.

These are extreme times. Many of us are turning to cannabis to ease our minds, relieve our stress, support our sleep, and find relief in these challenging circumstances. Cannabis is a key component to the health and wellness of many, and we are grateful that so many state and local governments deem dispensaries essential services that can continue to operate.

Cannabis delivery services are operational and dispensaries are open in most cities, and those that are have taken COVD-19 safety precautions to ensure customer safety. Call your local dispensary to find out if they offer express or curbside pickup or home delivery options.

We are grateful now more than ever for this plant and the varied ways it can support our physical and mental health. We are also grateful for the incredible community it has brought together, who share the same love and appreciation that we do. Thank you for being part of our family and for doing your part to stop the spread of this virus. Together, we will get through this.
